Better than Bisquick Whole Wheat Baking Mix

Makes 11 cups

8 cups whole wheat pastry flour

5 Tablespoons baking powder

1 Tablespoon sea salt

1-1/2 cups organic cultured buttermilk powder

1 cup coconut oil, melted


Combine dry ingredients well in a large bowl. Cut in oil with fingers to make fine

crumbs. Store in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator.


To make biscuits:

3 cups baking mix (from above recipe), let sit out and bring to room temperature

2/3 cups almond milk, rice milk or coconut milk or water

Optional: grated cheese, herbs or spices


Stir milk into mix just until moistened. Knead briefly on floured surface; roll or pat

out to 1/2" thick and cut into biscuits. Bake at 450 for 10 minutes.


Drop biscuits: Use 1 cup milk and drop by spoonful onto cookie sheet greased with

coconut oil. Bake as above. Makes 18 2" biscuits.

You can substitute this baking mix one for one in Bisquick recipes.
