Hi. I read Dees book 2 years ago and made the changes just to get healthy. I looked and felt great! I ended up losing 10 lbs effortlessly. Now I have a 1 year old and life is so different. I don't have as much time as before. I still enjoy cooking but I work full time so it's only when I can. I want/ need to lose 20+ pounds. But more than that be healthy again. I am overwhelmed to start the Dee tox; even though I've done it once before.
Any advice for a tired caffeine addicted working mom?!
Thanks!

Small steps! Dee's first cookbook I use religiously ! I usually spend a few hrs on a Sunday preparing food for the week! I also do a lot of green smoothies ! One green smoothie a day! I bake or grill extra chicken , fish or turkey to make salads for during the week for lunch! Water, excersize, yoga and weight loss tape by bellaruth napersack on weight loss for motivation! My mantra nothing tastes as good as healthy feels ! Best wishes for you!

I drastically reduced caffeine.  Coffee was wearing me down.  I use to drink a pot by late lunch time and yawn all day.  I had a baby that didn't sleep too well.  He is now 7 yrs old 2nd grade and sleeps great.  YEAH!   the problem was when he started really sleeping good when he was 5 I was still getting up in the middle of night to ck on him and bcz I needed to use the bathrm.  I was still use to getting up bcz I had been doing it every day for years.   I lived on caffeine.  Now I cleaned up my act.  I have very very little.   I go for days with no caffeine.  I go for weeks with no coffee and when I have some it is a diluted have cup.  Got out most chemicals and even on days with little sleep now I just seem to naturally be more awake - I don't yawn my days away.

** My tip is that the longer you are off chemicals and too much caffeine, the better you will feel.

From 1 mom to another.  I was a walking zombie the first 3 years of my baby's life :-)

Peace from a TXmom

Oh yah,  my new "coffee" in the morning is a green smoothy.  I use a Ninja blender any sort of blender is fine.   JUST don't use a juicer as it removes some nutrients and all the fiber.  I use mixed organic fresh lettuces, organic fresh kale, and / or frozen spinach along with sometimes sunflower nut butter or a cup of frozen or fresh vegies ORGANIC :-)   I also use water and flax seed milk; very low in calories and higher than most things in Omega 3.   I also do NOT eat carbs in the morning except where present in fruit and vegies and I DO eat protein at every meal.  So in the morn that could be eggs, or canned salmon, canned tuna, sardines, or what ever clean meat you can stomach in the morning.  I save my steel cut oats and quinoa for late in the day according to "The Adrenal Reset Diet" by Dr. Christanson.

Thanks everyone. I have actually been doing great with no caffine and I feel so much better! I need to get better about planning ahead and making meals for the week on my days off. I have been doing smoothies and adding vegan protein powder. I just need to combine everything together now.
