During the holidays we receive bottles of wine. Of course they will not get opened and sit for years, and as I read online they eventually go bad and turn into vinegar after some years. My question is can I drink them as you suggest in your book (which I have both by the way), or use it to cook with, or should I just dump them down the sink? I drink Bragg's Apple Cidar vinegar with some chocolate Stevia and water all the time. I'm hooked on it.

Hi Marsha,

Thanks for posting!  From what I know about wine turning to vinegar, it is not something that you are going to want to drink.  Most people report that the taste is bad and that it just tastes like spoiled wine, and not really vinegar.  It would be better to use as for cooking.  The type of vinegar recommended in my book is a special type--raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar.  It has different properties and many health benefits that an old spoiled wine cannot give you.  You may just want to pour it down the sink.

Best of Health,
Dee

I thought so but wanted to make sure before I dump it. I wouldn't want to use it in cooking either if it will spoil the food. Thanks so much Dee.
