Dee,
Loving your podcast (that's how I found you) and I recently listened to your show about butter.  For many years I used butter instead of the more "acceptable" margarine b/c my thought is I'd rather put a "natural food" into my body than something that was created in a lab.

But I'm wondering what your thoughts are on the spreadable butter with canola oil.  For example, Land O Lakes makes such a product and according to the nutritional label it's "better" for you b/c it has less saturated fat and more mono unsaturated fats than regular butter.

Your thoughts?
Thanks!
Karen

Ya know what, in reading the archives, I think I've answered the question for myself.

I'm guessing you're going to say "no, stick to real butter."

Am I right?

Karen, I'm glad you find the podcasts helpful, and welcome to my message board!  Alas, you are right, butter is better than any margarine or butter substitute.  I will always say that.  The saturated fat in butter is not to be feared.
