Dear Mindful Eaters -

Welcome to my Support Circle.  This message board will be used to provide support and guidance as you transition into a new way of eating and a healthier lifestyles.  Feel free to ask me questions about food choices and products.  Also, if you are struggling with any aspect of your dietary protocol, weight loss, or lifestyle, this is a place to receive encouragement.  I will do my best to answer most questions and hope that all of you will offer your own experience, strength and hope to each other by posting messages on this forum.
Holistic nutrition is about taking responsibility for what goes into your body.  Unfortunately we live in a world that doesn't always support the type of healthy eating that is required to maintain a healthy body, and being responsible for your food choices can be a challenge.  This message board can serve as a refuge, where we can band together as a community to support each other to stay on the healthy bandwagon.  Remember, we should always treat ourselves with the best food and the best care that we can.  I look forward to your questions and your messages.  Go forth and be healthy!   Dee McCaffrey

I should be in bed, but fascinated with this message board!!
I have now been on Plan-D for five wonderful weeks.  I guess what is discouraging is that people are losing weight so quickly and so far I am just losing about a pound a week.  At least I am losing!  Guess I thought it would come off more quickly.  Have not cheated even once. Started exercising 30 mins. five days a week. Doing the portion control.  I am even enjoying the ACV water three times a day!  Any suggestions for more rapid weight loss, or should I just count my blessings?  I am 72 years old.

Hi, this is Dee.
The rate at which a person loses weight has many factors--metabolism, age, level of activity, the types of foods you are choosing to eat, etc.  Plan-D is a good guideline for healthy eating and weight loss.  I don't know how much weight you want to lose, but I will tell you that 1 to 2 pounds per week is considered a healthy rate for weight loss.  If you find that you are not losing weight, you can reduce the number of portions of whole grains and legumes-- basically the starchy foods.  These are the foods that tend to inhibit or stall weight loss in some people.

At 72, your metabolism may be a little low, so you can boost it by exercising regularly (in the morning) and including the daily amount of coconut oil.

Be sure to eat lots of green leafy vegetables.  The amount of vegetables you eat is directly proportional to how much weight you will lose and how much health you will gain!

Welcome to the message board!  Keep coming back!

Dee
